After ten moving and exciting years, the organisers have decided that this will be the final Chacombe Music Festival.

We have put together a programme of outstanding quality, inviting back many of the performers from our early years. These musicians, who are now established on the international concert circuit, have made a special effort to come to Chacombe, from where they have all said they have so many happy memories.

We hope that, in turn, you will want to return to Chacombe for one last time, to rejoice in the achievements and enjoyment of which we have all been part.

This is not the end of young musicians coming and delighting us in Chacombe, as Sophie's Barn will be welcoming many more young and talented performers in years to come.

We very much look forward to welcoming you to our concerts in Chacombe this summer.

2010 will be the 10th Festival held in Chacombe and will be held over the weekend of Friday 18th to Sunday 20th of June.

To celebrate the anniversary we welcome back a number of distinguished Festival Alumni, including the Aronowitz Ensemble, Lendvai String Trio, Rhodes Piano Trio, violist Ylvali Zilliacus, cellist Charles Watt, and soprano Cressida van Gordon (a Sophie's Silver Lining Fund scholar) in a packed programme full of favourite and new vocal and chamber music to celebrate ten wonderful years of the Festival.

The evening of Friday June 18th will feature extracts from A Fountain Sealed, a new opera by festival director Nathan Williamson. This work has received considerable acclaim from critics and audiences - you can find more information about it and the by clicking here.

Guitar duo Tom Ellis and Laura Snowden from the Royal College of Music will be performing for the Coffee Concert on Sunday morning. We shall also will be holding more informal events during the previous week around an art exhibition in Sophie's Barn.

The Barn continues to flourish as a wonderful, intimate concert venue throughout the year, with recent residencies and performances by soprano Sarah Barnes, Ensemble 1607, Stephanie Shepherd Deadpan Productions and the Lawson Piano Trio.

Also this year - art exhibition in Sophie's Barn by local artist George Irvine. www.georgeirvinefineart.co.uk
