Sophie’s Barn was converted by Stephen and Cherry Large to commemorate the life of their daughter Sophie, a talented singer and actor, who tragically died in a car accident in 1998.
The barn is a beautiful, intimate performance venue equipped with a high-quality, recently refurbished Yamaha B-size grand piano and able to accommodate up to 5 performers (including piano) and an audience of approximately 40.
The barn is available as a rehearsal space for young musicians and actors throughout the year. Use of the barn, together with board and lodging, are provided for free by Stephen and Cherry Large in their home, which adjoins the barn. In return it is usually requested that performers give a short recital to a select audience free of charge at some time during their residency.
For further details about residencies or events in Sophie’s Barn, see the Sophie’s Silver Lining Fund Website www.silverlining.org.uk or contact Cherry Large.
